Chihayafuru, chapter 104
Chihayafuru, volume 20, chapter 104
And a little bonus, Chihayafuru Calendar 2013 cover with Chihaya and the card of the titular poem.
What a sad end of the year this is... Taichi, y u make me sad?
Oh, Project K... why are you doing this to me? I realize they were only fictional characters, but still, how come I cried my eyes out and now have to search for the mechanisms to try and cope with that damn ending, huh? With an ending like that, the whole story just feels hopeless, and empty, and friggin tragic, because no matter how much Munakata tried, in the end, he could do nothing to prevent the tragedy with Suou; moreover, he himself ended up a wreck of a man in the process; and the answer to Weissman's 肩を並べて同じ道を歩くことはできないのかな (I wonder if there's a chance for those two to walk the same road shoulder-to-shoulder) is a fuckin capital 'NO'. Out of 5 kings who were introduced, 3 are dead and 2 are on the way there - one because of old age, and the other because of the sheer magnitude of emotional suffering and guilt he's now saddled with. It's like the main and nearly only point of the whole damn series was a dragged out, slow and painful death of the Red King, and not much else. The heck is that, I'm asking... At this rate, the only thing that can be expected from season 2 is Munakata undergoing the same agonizing ordeal as Suou before dying as well. Well, fuck it, seriously, fuck it.

Thanks for this chapter!!! <3
I haven't seen Project K but I have heard a lot of people recently say how frustrated they are with it.
thank you for chihayafuru, i got a feeling that mashima will taste the bitterest...
Project K... I was practically flipping tables after I saw the finale. Suoh dies, and nothing now will ever come to any good(c). I really, really liked him and GAWD Munakata's face at the end nearly did me in. He must feel really, really devastated inside, especially seeing how Seri's words practically made Munakata/Suoh canon ;___; And Fushimi, too! His not-really-forgotten bond with the red really touched me, as did the whole conversation with Seri. Pure gold, that one.
thank you so much for scanlating and sharing this~

Chapter 103 & 104 + K-Project from JCDRANZER
Man, I agree with your sentiments about this being the one match you wanted Chihaya not to win, I also see it as great injustice if she ends up winning despite all the effort and hard work Taichi put in. I believe her beating him now would really crush Taichi's spirits and will send into an even worse rut that he has been going through and the fact that Chihaya has pretty much only had eyes on Arata for so long, which will eventually drop him into the depths of an abyss that I am unsure he will ever be able to crawl out of.
I don't want this to happen but if it did, I think I might enjoy the series even more, I don't think Chihaya has realised that Taichi is injured, he worried more about hurting her than the wound he sustained.
How can such a guy suffer so much?
I so feel for Taichi and his struggles is one of the main reasons I read the manga and I am totally psyched about season 2 starting next week, I wish it could be this week instead.
As for K-Project, wasn't it 6 Kings of the 7:-
Red, Blue, Ichigen (Black), Gold, Silver and Colourless.
I'm pretty sure the Silver King will be resurrected, he only sacrificed himself so that the Colourless King could be killed but since he's immortal, I'm pretty sure he will be back in season 2 but probably with a side-effect from his sacrifice like memory loss.
As for Suou dying, he died somewhat of a manly death. I know the Blue King, Munakata, will carry the guilt since he considered Suou a friend despite their general animosity because of them being at separate sides. I wonder what will become of the Homura RED Crew now that their King is dead.

Chapter 105
The conclusion of the match occurs. Tsutomu tells something to Chihaya at the end about Taichi I believe and I think I know what he told her but I'm not 100% certain...I won't write anymore in fear that these spoiler tags might not work here.
Has chapter 106 been released yet in Japan?
